Brief Description

Located on the Dublin – Sligo road and railway. Centre of an argricultural area. Striking landmark is the Classical cathedral of Christ the King built in 1939.

Golf nearby at Belvedere. Trout fishing in local lakes.

Town of Fore in County Westmeath

Tullynaly Castle

Brief Description

Between Lough Lene and Lough Glore. Remains of mid 7th century monastery of St Feichin. Nearby is Castlepollard and Pakenham Hall (Tullynally Castle) home of the Earls of Longford.
