Brief Description
An area of natural beauty best view from Scrabo Tower – Built by Frances Anne third Marchioness of Londonderry to her husband Charles. Portaferry & Strangford are at the mouth of the Lough – Newtownards is at it’s head. Nearby – 15th century Movilla Abbey – Mahee Island three monks’ cells.
Local Area attractions
Two thirds of the world’s population of Brent Geese come to Strangford between September and January. Best viewed at Castle Espie Wetlands area
