Brief Description
Border town across the River Mourne from Lifford in Donegal.
Strong associations with America. John Dunlap who emigrated from Strabane printed the American Declaration of Independence in 1776. It is claimed he learned his trade at Gray’s Printing Shop, now a National Trust property and open for visits. A fellow apprentice was James Wilson grandfather of President Woodrow Wilson.
