Rathmullan
Brief Description
Towns stands on Lough Swilly and has the remains of a 15t century Carmelite friary.
Red Hugh O’Donnell was lured aboard a ship at Rathmullan in 1587 and taken to Dublin Castle, escaping four years later. It was also from here that the earls of Tryone and Tyrconnell fled to France in 1607.

Brief Description
At the head Lough Swilly it has expanded rapidly in recent years with new hotels and shops. A good base for touring.
St Eunan’s Neo Gothic Cathedral has many Celtic carvings. Nearby Cowal cemetery has many ancient tombstones.

Salmon angling centre. Shopping. Lively evening entertainment.
Nearby is Glenveagh National Park – well worth a visit – castle, lough, gardens, walks and other attractions.

Brief Description
On the Inishowen peninsula on the shores of Lough Swilly. The Keep of O’Doherty’s Castle 1430 stands at Castle Bridge. Nearby at Crocahaisil is a Bronze Age burial cairn, At Gransha a dolman and Buncrana Castle built in 1717 by Sir John Vaughan.

Golf, Fishing, walking, touring sailing,swimming. Three miles of fine sand runs to Fahan
Nearby 2019ft Slieve Snacht.
For scenic views of the Lough visit Duncree Head Lighthouse.
