“Gig ‘n Bann” is a celebration of dance and music that displays a large depth of Ulster. It is found amid two towns, namely Ballymena and Magherafelt in Antrim. It is between these two towns wherein villages can be found along the banks of the River Bann. This has been commemorated by innumerable writers and artists throughout the years.

The philosophy of the festival is to convey simultaneous musical traditions beyond all cultural divisions. Its main goal is to merge the existence of the long-established musical talents of the Ulster Scots tradition as well as the Traditional Irish music.
