Brief Description
Fortified in the reign of William and Mary but only the outer wall of the tower remains. Nearby on the Rock of Dunamase are the remains of a 12th century castle of Dermot MacMurrough, king of Leinster.

Brief Description
Norman Castle built by de Courcy or de Lacy. 12th century fortification notable for its round Keep and featuring a latrine in the outer wall.
Local Area attractions
Nearby – Murlough National Nature reserve. Includes dunes, beach, estuary and heathland. Great for walking and Bird watching – visit information centre. Area once a Stone and Bronze age settlement.
Opposite main entrance at Slidderyford is a dolmen 8ft high and 4000 years old.
