Brief Description

Tumulus or passage grave in the Boyne valley is over 4000 years old ( older than some Pyramids in Egypt). The mound over the tomb is over 36ft high at the front with white quarts stones used for the outside layer. Stones were brought from both the Mourne and Wicklow mountains.

The suns rays from a portal above the entrance penetrate to the back of the passage at the winter solstice. Also 12 standing stones remain of a possible 35/38.
