Brief Description
Drumcliff church is famous as the burial place of W B Yeats whose father served here as rector. A splendid 13ft High Cross stands near the church St Columba founded a monastery here in 574. Nearby is Lissadell home of the Gore-Booth family where Yeats was frequent guest. Constance Gore-Booth is noted for her part in the 1916 rebellion.
