Brief Description

Formed sixty million years ago – Molten Lava formed 37,000 mostly hexagonal basalt columns. Some are four, five, seven and eight sided. A wonder of the world not to be missed.

Walks of varying lengths. Learn the legend of Finn MacColl making stepping stones to Scotland and fooling a Scottish Giant.

One of the walks takes you to Port na Spaniagh where the Spanish Armada Galleon the Girona foundered. Treasures from the Girona are on show in the Ulster Museum Belfast.
