Dingle

Brief Description

The most westerly town in Europe it stands amidst the exquisite scenery of the Dingle Peninsula and Bay. Steep streets and old world charm. This is a Gaelic- speaking area which also takes in the village of Dunquin. Great Blasket Island lies off the coast. The Spanish Armada vessel Santa Maria de la Rosa captained by Prince D’Ascoli, son of Philip II was wrecked in the Blasket Sound on 21st September 1589.
